Fidel Castro, Guerrillero (Second Edition) by Arnold August

This 25-page, illustrated, trilingual commemorative booklet by Arnold August was first published in 2016 as a tribute to Fidel Castro. It contains two insightful texts available in English, Spanish and French: “Fidel the Guerrilla in 2015–16 and Beyond” and “Fidel’s Legacy to the World on Theory and Practice.” The first piece is a presentation Arnold gave in August 2016 on Fidel’s 90th birthday, highlighting what Arnold believes to be Fidel’s prescient insights on Obama’s Cuba policy, which have been vindicated by recent events. The second piece also provides a glimpse into today’s Cuba, its strengths and weaknesses.

This second edition, published in September 2024, commemorates a decade since Presidents Barack Obama and Raúl Castro re-established diplomatic relations in December 17, 2014, followed in 2016 by Obama’s historic visit to Cuba.
